Cabled Band Hat

Hey, these are just the pattern notes from a hat I made. I'll edit them later and maybe work them out into an actual pattern, but for now it's just my personal notes as I made the hat.

Left-Handed Knitting Tutorial: Part 2--The Knit Stitch

Here's part two of my tutorial for left-handed knitters (who knit in a left-handed way).

Left-Handed Knitting Tutorial: Part 1--Casting On

Here's a link to Part One of my planned series of tutorials for people learning to knit left-handed. I know many of them knit right-handed, but sometimes left-handers just can't (or won't) do that.

Disclaimer: I am, in fact, right-handed. I just taught myself to do it this way to better teach left-handed people I know.

Who doesn't love jellyfish?

I made another amigurumi-- this time a little jellyfish! I used a pattern for this one, and I'm not sure if I liked how it turned out. I certainly don't like it as well as my bunny.

I gave the jellyfish to my sister, and she loves it though.

First Amigurumi

,I made a little bunny amigurumi, my first crochet project! I didn't use a pattern, but I think it turned out pretty cute. My family thought so too, so this certainly won't be the last amigurumi I make. I'm pretty sure my sister already called the next two!

I might sew a little dress or something for the bunny, but until then, here's a pic of the (tentatively) finished project!

I hope you think it's cute! And if anyone wants the pattern, feel free to ask. I recorded what I did, and it's pretty basic, so I'm more than willing to share.

Knit Hat Lining

My friends and I all live in the frigid north of the US, so knit hats frequently aren´t warm enough. That´s why I line them with fleece. I thought that I´d show how I lined one of my friends hats, just so other people who are cold can do so too.

An Intro

After reading hundreds of really great craft blogs, I've finally been inspired to write my own. So here's a basic intro to me, my life, and this, my new blog.

My name's Maia, and I'm currently stuck in that teenager/young adult transitional thing, and have always been kinda 'crafty.' I blame my dad for this, as he has the biggest DIY mentality I've ever encountered, and it rubbed off. However, instead of repairing vintage tube amps or guitar cases (like him), I primarily knit and sew.

Anyway, I'll be sharing my projects and patterns here, and hope you enjoy reading about them.
